Sister Sister Bread Co. started with one sister who knew how to build a business and another who needed something of her own.
What began as an idea for a creative outlet and a way for Sam to earn an income while still having the flexibility to be home with her family turned into something neither of us quite expected: she was really, really good at making bread.
And, more importantly, she loved it.
Two years later, Sam is the heart of the bakery. She's the face you see and the bread you eat. She's behind the dough, the new flavors, the baking videos, the market tables, and so much of what makes SSBC what it is.
Behind the scenes is the other sister—Kelsey is the business brain who helped turn a new hobby into a real company and still shows up whenever an extra set of hands is needed.
Sisters by marriage. Bread girls by choice.
And somewhere along the way, a little home bakery became a community of people who care about really good bread just as much as we do.

For us, better bread starts with simplicity.
A traditional sourdough loaf can be made with just flour, water, and salt. Compare that ingredient list with some of the bread sitting on a grocery store shelf and... seriously, what is all that stuff?
We think bread deserves more intention than that.
Our sourdough is a three-day labor of love. Long fermentation can't be rushed, and we don't want it to be. We give our dough the time it needs to ferment, develop incredible flavor, and build the gluten strength that gives our loaves their soft texture and beautiful structure.
No shortcuts. No rushing the good stuff.
Just simple ingredients, time, technique, and a whole lot of intention.
And yes—it tastes better, too!
We don't bake just to fill a table.
We care about what goes into our food, how it's made, and what we're putting into the hands of the people who support us week after week.
From our sourdough loaves to our bagels, cookies, cinnamon rolls, scones, brownies, and everything else we dream up along the way, we're always learning, experimenting, and finding new ways to make something we're proud to feed our own families and yours.
Some things take three days. Some things start as a wild idea in the kitchen. But everything we make has one thing in common: it's made with intention.
Because better bread—and better bakes—shouldn't be complicated. They should just be made with care.
